We still remember the doctor walking into the room and giving us the alarming news.
We had just been cut open, with a fresh 7-inch gash down our right side. We were 18 years old, but apparently our kidney was ailing from a bit of a birth defect. We were the oldest patient our doc had ever done the procedure on (what a prize).
The surgery was routine.
But the recovery was not.
“We can’t let you go home until your blood pressure comes down,” the doc said. “We’re going to start some medicine.”
Now that we know what we know, we’re not sure who filled the small, two-bed hospital room with more ignorance… us or the doc.
Not once during our five-day stint in the sixth-floor corner room did the doc inquire about our eating habits or daily routine. After all, we were 18 and had the muscle tone to prove it. We looked healthy.
But we ate everything in front of us.
Good food, bad food, processed food… just put it in there. The quicker and easier… the better.
Thinking back, we wouldn’t touch 90% of what we ate in our early years. It would probably kill us.
But we’ve been blessed over the last few decades.
We’ve made some great Connections that revealed the truth.
We’ve uncovered incredible Know-How about our medical system and its tendency to mask the pain of ignorance with a handful of pills.
That’s why we’re so excited for the next chapter of our little passion project.
We’re doing something big… that we think you’re really going to like.
We’ve assembled a team of world-class experts and are working overtime to eradicate ignorance.
Why We’re Investing Big
Take a look at these facts.
A report just released by the Health Survey for England reveals that “the overwhelming majority of adults in England are so unhealthy, they put their lives at risk.”
Here in the States, we can only imagine the number is just as bad… or worse.
After all, the number of prescriptions for Americans rose 85% between 1997 and 2016 (our population grew only 21%).
Given those figures, it’s no surprise that 55% of all Americans regularly take a prescription drug… tallying up to more than $360 billion worth of annual drug costs.
But here are two facts that should rattle your bones.
First, more than half the folks regularly taking drugs today have gotten their prescriptions from two or more docs. Perhaps a general practitioner handed out some blood pressure pills, while a rheumatologist penned a script or two for rheumatoid arthritis.
It happens every day.
But what doesn’t happen every day – or ever, in many cases – is having a single doctor look over a patient’s list of daily pills to see that 1) they work safely together and 2) they’re all needed.
When the latter is done, our second crazy fact, folks tend to find something quite interesting.
In more than two-thirds of cases, they realize they can eliminate at least one drug.
It’s proof that ignorance and Big Pharma’s greed are killing folks.
Writing the Wrong
It’s a theme we ran across time and time again while researching our new book. We found dozens of proven alternative treatments for some of our most common ailments.
We even found incredible evidence in favor of new – all natural – treatments for cancer.
But few folks, especially the folks getting paid to write prescriptions, are talking about this new realm of practical medicine.
Starting next week, though, we are!
That’s right… We’re launching an entirely free e-letter that aims squarely at sharing critical Know-How about your health and well-being.
It’s called Practical Health Today.
The concept is simple.
There’s no politics. No opinion. And no white-coat agenda. We’re simply sharing the news of the day that you won’t hear from the mainstream press, Big Pharma or the FDA.
We’re not ready to reveal everything to the masses quite yet, but because you’re a Manward Digest reader, we’ll let you in early.
You can check out our new website by clicking here.
And while you’re on the site, you can sign up to be one of the first to receive our brand-new e-letter. Consider it our early Christmas gift to you.
We’re quite excited.
This is a whole new chapter for Manward… and we think you’re going to love it.
Our passion project is exploding!
And our kidney is doing just fine.
P.S. Like we said, most folks won’t know about Practical Health Today for another week or so. But you have the shot at being one of the first to have this free e-letter delivered to your inbox each afternoon. Just visit Practical Health Today to sign up.
