Proof That Our Nation Is Under Attack… From the Inside

We have an update to our oh-so-controversial plan to save America.

The news is not good.

We’re under attack from the inside.

What’s happening is quite sad. Our nation’s ideals – the unique ideology that has long made us a shiny star in a sky of black – are being tossed aside.

But this time it’s not happening in some newspaper editorial… and the words aren’t coming from some talking head trying to pitch his book.

No, they’re coming from what was once one of America’s most beloved positions of authority and trust.

America’s latest threat comes from its schools.

Dirty Words

Earlier this week we got wind of some disgusting words that were uttered within a California classroom.

A history teacher named Gregory Salcido verbally picked on a young student wearing a sweatshirt that honored the U.S. Marines.

Sick of hearing such atrocities from a supposed leader and a mentor, a student in the class secretly recorded the rant.

Here’s what the “educator” had to say of our nation’s military men and women. Read these words if you dare…

They’re not like high-level bankers. They’re not academic people. They’re not intellectual people. They are the lowest of our low. Not morally. I’m not saying they make bad moral decisions. They’re not talented people.

If that out-of-touch statement wasn’t bad enough, Salcido couldn’t help but dig himself into a deeper hole.

So, if you join the military, it means you had no other option. You didn’t do well academically. Your parents didn’t love you enough to push you.

He kept digging… and digging…

That’s like when the president says we have the best military in the world. No we don’t. The data is in; we don’t have a good military. We haven’t been able to beat these guys wearing robes and chanclas for 15 years. And you’re telling me… we couldn’t beat the Vietnamese – they’re a bunch of people this freakin’ big throwing rice at us. Couldn’t beat them.

And then he dug some more…

Don’t you ever bring the freakin’ military into this classroom. I don’t understand why we let the freakin’ military guys recruit you at school. We don’t let pimps come into school. Is anyone interested in being a ho?

We could list all the ways Salcido is wrong. We could talk about the military men we’ve worked alongside… and trusted with our lives. And we’d love to spill some ink spreading the word about our good childhood friend (the top in our class) who skipped the big money in the world of medicine and, instead, devoted his medical career to saving the lives of his fellow soldiers.

But why bother?

Readers know the truth.

They know that without great military heroes like Teddy Roosevelt, who learned the value of his country while carrying a rifle for it, we wouldn’t have a vast network of national treasures.

They know that without folks like Petty Officer 2nd Class Ashlee Leppert dangling from a helicopter last fall, dozens of Gulf Coast residents would have been in their graves today.

And they know that without the men and women in uniform, many of the technologies we rely on today (GPS, digital cameras and a slew of medical practices, just to start) never would have been invented.

But here’s the sad part… our nation’s youngest don’t know.

They don’t know the value of our military. They don’t know why it’s vital to our freedom. And they certainly don’t know what serving his country does to a man’s mind and soul.

All they know is what they’re taught. And they’re being taught wrong.

Teaching Politics

We could cross our fingers and hope Salcido is alone in his beliefs – that there are not other teachers like him anywhere else in the country.

But that’d be ignorant.

We know there are more like him in every district and every school in the nation. They push a political agenda and say to hell with the facts or the idea of a rounded agenda.

How do we know?

We see folks sitting for our national anthem. We see them worshipping Hollywood. And we see them failing when they aren’t handed participation awards at work.

We believe there are plenty of things wrong with our country.

And we’ll push back anytime the government stretches its bounds.

But steering kids away from an honorable career… steering them away from the noble idea of putting our lives on the line for something much bigger than us… well, that’s something we will never stand for.

It’s proof that our nation is under attack… from the inside.
